Dear DSU Students,
We strive to build a community of professionals within our university's virtual classroom. However, we have had some students reach out to staff who do not feel comfortable with contacts from other students made in the classroom. We want to create a safe online environment for everyone. DSU staff have carefully reviewed recent contacts, and while there is nothing inappropriate, we have determined a clear policy from the college was prudent.
Because our students may have limited time in the classroom, please do not send messages or chats to students you see are online. Many balance work and class requirements and have limited time to complete their assignments.
Please refrain from unsolicited messaging and outreach in the classroom or outside of it. Posting your own LinkedIn or other contact information in your introduction at the beginning of class is an appropriate invitation to network.
